I'm not prejudice however I just want my child to be in a white non Hispanic school system. Its one of the reasons we chose WLSS its the best around. I'm happy that my child is being taught by teachers that care about their students. I came from a horrible school district where students were in gangs and drug dealing during breaks. I know what's its like growing up hard and having eyes in the back of your head. WLSS kids don't have to worry about that. I'm glad its a white school system

I go to this school and I'm only a sophom*ore but I moved from NY in August before my freshman year. I had lots of friends and lots of people liked me in my old school. I had a social life and would hang out with people there. Now since I've been going to WAHS I've never hung out with anybody here outside of school and I have 2 friends because nobody wants to be friends with the black kid from NY. I'm part of the whopping 4% of black kids here and I feel very segregated. I get lots of attention just simply because I'm black and not white like 90% of the students that go to this school. I wish that my parents did not move me out here and I could've stayed in NY where I had friends and a social life. Now I stay home and I'm very depressed. I would not send your kid here if they're from out of state or black.

Very questionable ethics with this school and especially it's faculty. I'm a police officer and can tell you that on more than one occassion, teachers from this school have been involved in everything from minor crimes to major crimes that somehow gets buried out of public view. An example of these crimes is a teacher that resides in a nearby lake community that was arrested for assault on the community president during July 2009. Another example is yet another so-called teacher that owns several small properties that he rents out to young, sometimes underaged females and then has sexual relations with them at random. Another teacher has been convicted of DUI three consecutive times and the list of offenses goes on and on. There is even one former teacher that has a history of petophelia that somehow worked in their middle school and was convicted of crimes against children.

That last review is just BS. I went to Wallenpaupack my whole life, and made sure my Son goes there as well. They DO have a PTA, they do have many many things to do such as a band, chorale, etc. If someones child wilts here, it's not the schools fault. This school has the best programs for special needs children, and a much more flexible school board. I would never send my children anywhere else.

NO I would not recommend this school. If your from out of state, The High School especially, does not allow out of state kids to show their talents, even if they are more talented then the local child, simply because they are from out of state. I wish we knew this before we moved here. My flower (child) Is wilting because of these people. Where we were from my child excelled in everything,Honors, music, theather, band, county arts, you name it. I will gladly move when my child graduates. Also no PTA for parents that want to be involved. This has been truly a disappointment living here. Not what there web page claims. My child was in the National Junior Honor Society. The Junior High was told of this. They never even asked her to the ceremony. Not impressed.
